Department of Nursing

Established in 1981, the Department of Nursing at Central Connecticut State University prepares compassionate, highly skilled nursing professionals grounded in both clinical expertise and high-quality education. We empower students to achieve high standards in professional practice, public service, and personal growth, while fostering the social awareness and global perspective needed in today’s dynamic healthcare environment.

As one of Central's most popular majors, our program continues to grow as we expand academic pathways, promote engaging learning experiences, and encourage innovative approaches to care.

“As a nursing student, working in the Community Health Education Clinic is very helpful because it allows students to feel more comfortable working with different types of patients. We also get to work hands-on with the high tech equipment used in the clinic.”
